In her later life, before arthritis began to dull her lively style, Colette was in demand as an amusing and interesting lecturer. In Doors Open, Doors Closed, it is as if she is providing us, an invited audience, with one final, revealing, retrospective account of her very full, sometimes bizarre and hedonistic life. The play was written for Victoria Kempton. Vicky was unable to commit to rehearsals in time for this reading. Teresa Jennings has kindly agreed to perform the reading this evening. The production is directed by Kenn Michaels. The reading is followed by a discussion, chaired by Lucy Appleby.
