Tony Marshall, a gay Civil Servant, is preparing to join his partner José in Spain, and waiting for his friends Nicky and Ed, who have offered to look after the flat. His preparations are interrupted by his 17 year old neighbour, Alan Shelton. It is obvious that the boy has more on his mind than the message his mother Doreen has asked him to relay. Tony knows nothing about the two men in the message. His subsequent disappearance starts a search by his friends. The play is based on a true murder and is full of sexual intrigue. The characters portrayed are imaginary, but represent the original people whose lives this drama changed.
The action take place in the 1970s, when being gay was stressful and dangerous in Britain.
