John Murphy is a retired Civil Engineer, who graduated from Imperial College and went on to work in Britain, Ireland, Europe, Middle East, and the Far East. He is also a former swimming instructor, scuba diver and skier, and has even done time in the Civil Service.
As well as pursuing his interests (walking, swimming, looking at paintings, theatre, cinema, and travelling to Germany), he has been trying his hand at writing, and has had a few snippets published.
He is now trying to write drama, inspired by one small success: a short play produced on the stage at Lyric Theatre Hammersmith as part of the City Lit Page to Stage Festival.
