It’s 1717. Lady Mary Wortley Montagu has witnessed smallpox inoculation while travelling in Turkey and is determined to bring the procedure to Britain. However, she needs more than a little help from her friend Caroline, Princess of Wales, to take on the sceptical medical establishment. And, unfortunately, Mary is a terrible friend. Can the two women stay on good terms long enough to fight the dastardly doctors and defeat the speckled monster?
