After a distinguished military career as Commander-In-Chief Bomber Command, Sir Arthur Harris has found some of his decisions mired in controversy and taken work in South Africa. His wife Therese, egged on by her sister Iris, is determined to come home. And it appears the newly re-elected Winston Churchill has honours in mind. Into their privileged world bursts Paula,who lost her family in the bombing of Dresden. She wants to find out why Harris razed Dresden to the ground and whether he knew how much suffering he’d caused.
