I was accepted at East 15 Drama School but decided not to take up the offer as I was too concerned about leaving a full-time job, spending a great deal on training and being one among hundreds competing for work and agents afterwards. I decided that I might have a better chance of standing out if I wrote and took a principal role in my own play. This was the one-act play Beyond The Pail, in which I appeared with my local group, Uppingham Theatre Company, at Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival in 2016. We received very favourable reviews in two newspapers and were delighted with audience reaction and written feedback. I am now looking to take the play further and hope that the rehearsed reading with AWL may help me to do this.

I have completed work (pre-feedback) on my second play, one for the radio this time, called The Autumn Of My Years. Inspired by two true stories, it tells the tale of the developing friendship between a young man and an elderly lady towards the end of the lady’s life.

Recently I have written two half-hour Christmas radio comedies and am now waiting to hear back from producers.

I am represented by Robert Wilkinson at Red Talent Management.
