Tom Levitt writes books and plays.
His books include The Courage to Meddle: the Belief of Frances Perkins, (2019), a biography of the ‘mother’ of Roosevelt’s New Deal. His three business books include the acclaimed The Company Citizen (2018). He has also published two novels, the latest being the political thriller A Fallen Man (2022).
Tom’s plays have been produced regularly (every 14 years, on average). They include The Angel Norman (1981), written and directed by Tom and runner-up in a competition; Making Allowances (2010), about the MPs’ expenses scandal, written and performed at the Diorama Theatre (Dir: Chris Mellor); and PowerPlay: a Play about Power (2018), a post-Brexit farce (written and directed). PowerPlay featured in the Camden Festival and was also performed in Norwich. When in Rome, NY, a play describing an incident in Frances Perkins’ life, is in preparation (2023).
Formerly an MP himself, Tom now teaches Sustainability at the University of West London Business School. He possesses season tickets for both Kew Gardens and Brentford FC.
